“They are everywhere.
They are in holes. They are in corners.
Shadows. Nooks. Under sofas. Behind pictures.
They crawl into shoes.
Lower themselves onto the steering wheel.
Creep across the duvet.
They are in the pleasures. And in the necessities.
On the backsides. And the bottoms. On the wrong side of things.
Everywhere you cannot see them.
I would just like to see them. To know about them.
Isn’t it better to know about them? They could be anywhere.
I cannot see through the can to check whether there is something inside it, and I find it difficult to look down into it through the little opening. I mostly just see darkness, even though the Kristall is clear. Apart from the bubbles, though you can still see through them. Maybe if I had more eyes. Then I could see down into it. And be completely sure that there was nothing there.
Maybe.
Because I never know.
I should be sure. I wish I could be sure. It would be better to be sure. To know whether there was something there.
Of course, I could just pour out the can. And drink from a clear glass. And eat clear food. And move everything away from the walls. And keep the lights on. Then I would see them. Because it is better to know about them. Whether they are there.
Or not.
Maybe they are not there at all.”
